Oval

Oval is an electronic music project from Germany, founded in 1991 by Markus Popp, Sebastian Oschatz, and Frank Metzger. Now a solo project of Popp, Oval is known for pioneering glitch music, initially by manipulating the sounds of skipping CDs. The 1995 album 94diskont. is considered a landmark release in the genre. Originally a trio, Oschatz and Metzger left in 1995, with Popp continuing to release music under the Oval name. Popp has also collaborated with other musicians, including Jan St. Werner of Mouse on Mars in the project Microstoria.
