Night Lovell

There’s a reason Night Lovell’s voice feels like it’s coming from the bottom of a frozen lake. Emerging from Ottawa, of all places, he became a foundational architect of the mid-2010s SoundCloud gloom, building his world from the ground up and often crafting his own ice-cold beats as KLNV. On early tapes like 2014’s Concept Vague and its follow-up Red Teenage Melody, his impossibly deep baritone cuts through the hazy synths not with aggression, but with a kind of dead-eyed authority. This wasn't just music for the internet; it was music that sounded like the internet's dark, anonymous corners, a digital ghost story told in a voice you can’t forget.
