The Trashmen

The Trashmen are a surf and garage rock band formed in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 1962. The group’s lineup included Tony Andreason (lead guitar, vocals), Dal Winslow (rhythm guitar, vocals), Bob Reed (bass), and Steve Wahrer (drums, vocals). The Trashmen are best known for their 1963 single "Surfin' Bird," which reached number four on the U.S. Billboard charts and became an international hit. A follow-up single, "Bird Dance Beat," also charted in the U.S. and Canada in 1964.
