About
Listening to JPEGMAFIA is like mainlining a decade of corrupted data streams and political fury. After a four-year Air Force stint, the producer-rapper Barrington Hendricks landed in Baltimore’s noise scene, forging a sound that was entirely his own. His 2018 breakout, Veteran, felt like a system crash—a maelstrom of fractured samples, glitched-out 808s, and confrontational bars. Tracks like “1539 N. Calvert” didn’t just play; they stuttered and attacked. He’s since refined that chaos, collaborating with Danny Brown on 2023’s Scaring the Hoes, but the core remains: one man’s unfiltered, militant, and terminally online vision, produced and performed with zero compromise.
