Oasis

About

Oasis didn't just want to be the biggest band in the world; they acted like they already were from the first snarled note. Exploding out of Manchester with a belief so absolute it felt like a weather system, the band was a vessel for Noel Gallagher’s stadium-sized hooks and his brother Liam’s confrontational sneer. After Creation Records boss Alan McGee famously caught them in Glasgow in ‘93, their debut Definitely Maybe became a cultural atom bomb, followed by the global conquest of (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?. They weren’t subtle—this was a jet-engine roar of guitars and Beatles melodies, crafting modern hymns like “Live Forever” built to be bellowed back by thousands.
