Nobuo Uematsu

Nobuo Uematsu is a Japanese composer and keyboardist from Kōchi, Japan. He is primarily known for his work on the Final Fantasy video game series, having joined developer Square (now Square Enix) in 1986. Uematsu composed the scores for most of the series' main titles before leaving the company in 2004 to work as a freelancer and establish his own company, Smile Please, and record label, Dog Ear Records. He has also been the keyboardist in the bands The Black Mages and Earthbound Papas, which perform rock arrangements of his compositions.
